Using the meat grinder is a really easy process. You only have to attach all the parts and the plate of your desire. The next step is feeding the grinder with the meat you want to mince.
The mincing process might look like an easy thing to do, but there are many other tips that you have to follow in order to keep the grinder working properly.
Use Cold Meat
Try to use cold meat while mincing. That is because warm meat can easily smear and the fat might start leaking. In addition to the meat, you should also try to put the meat grinder in a refrigerator for some time before mincing the meat. If you are trying to prepare the meat to stuff sausages, then it’s require you to mince it several times over. So, you should take a bowl inside a bowl filled with ice to keep the meat cold throughout.
Keep an Eye on Smearing
When mincing the meat, keep an eye on the meat that comes out through the holes on the grinder. In ideal scenario, you should be able to identify the meat and the fat separately. If you can’t identify the meat and the fat separately, then use the reverse function, or clean the blade of the grinder and run the meat again through it in order to get rid of smearing. Also, use cold meat, as warm meat can be easily smeared.
Keep The Blade Sharp
Blade is some of the most important parts of meat grinders that require proper maintenance and sharpening every now and then. Ideally, the blade of your grinder should get sharper with repeated use over time. But there are times when you’ll need to make the dull blade sharp again in order to restore its function.
